Ebenthal to expand: the acquisition of a territory in Argentina

In official conversations with the government, a representative of the Sáenz family discusses the possibility of ceding sovereignty over the family farm in the Argentine province of Chubut to the State of Ebenthal.

The long-awaited idea has finally come to fruition. With the start of formal talks on 15 March 2022, the Government of the Kingdom of Ebenthal is seeking the annexation of a territory of 1.9 square kilometers in the city of Trevelin, in the province of Chubut in Argentine Patagonia. The territory, a wool production farm, belongs to Jorge Sáenz, great-uncle of Henrique Sãens, 13th Prime Minister of Ebenthal.

The Most Dignified Mr. The Prime Minister had already proposed the idea since the beginning of 2021, but his proposal was promptly rejected due to uncertainties on the part of the former Worker's Party government about its organization, administration and integration with national politics, in which the former government it had been bizarrely supported by the Conservative Party. However, after the idea matured and with Henrique leading a strongly Moderate government, the proposal was revived and Henrique invited his cousin, Jesús Sáenz, to represent his own father, owner of the farm, in the sovereignty concession negotiations.

Jesús spoke with the Councillor Speaker, The Lord Duke of Sternachten, who transmitted the content of the conversation to the House of Councillors, to which it is submitted for approval to proceed with the negotiations. The Prime Minister negotiated with his cousin his appointment to the position of President of the Province that should be created from the annexed territory. Mr. Jesús, in charge of the Sáenz family, had only one objection: he would like a title of nobility. The negotiations were presented to parliament in session on 3 April, and in meeting with the King, Her Majesty assured the Prime Minister that she will not object to Mr. Sáenz in order to continue the negotiations.

In session on the 10th of April, the sovereignty concession treaty already signed by His Majesty The King was presented to the House of Councillors, which approved the proceeding. The treaty by which the Sáenz family cedes sovereignty over the property of their farm (as opposed to ceding ownership) to the State of Ebenthal in perpetuity was, on the same day, forwarded to Mr. Jesús by his cousin, the Prime Minister, and awaits his appreciation.
