The Most Dignified Lord Henri Sãens remains Prime Minister after tensions over his position seemed uncertain given the landslide victory of the newly founded New Democratic Party which won 4 seats in the House of Councillors, almost as many as the Prime Minister's Moderate Party, which won 5 seats, down from the 8 it previously occupied.
In order to maintain his position, Henri had to negotiate a coalition with the Worker's Party, severely weakened after the resignation of its president, Lady Gabriela, The Duchess of Frumar, who founded the New Democratic Party with defectors from both the Worker's and Moderates and even of the Conservatives. However, the head of government still had to count on the favor of His Majesty the King - given the fact that both government and opposition have 7 seats in the House of Councillors each - and the luck of the new and strange opposition formed by the Conservative and New Democratic parties have not yet cast a vote of no confidence against his government.
