Prime Minister founds Nordic Party, resigns from office, and shifts balance of power.

Baron de Sommerlath resigns as Prime Minister to fulfill his dream of creating a Nordic representation party. Henri Sãens, former Prime Minister, returns to power with the National Party.

In the last few weeks, the political world of Ebenthal was surprised by the foundation of a new political party, the Nordic Party, led by former Prime Minister Rupert Ruschel, 1st Baron of Sommerlath. The politician, who had been in power for a little more than four months as head of government, resigned from his post to devote himself to this new endeavor, which promises to bring representation to the Swedish-born Ebenthali citizens in parliament.

Ruschel, in his resignation speech, emphasized that his decision to leave office was difficult but necessary. He stated that the creation of the Nordic Party is a response to the lack of political representation of the non-Brazilians in issues that directly affect the Ebenthalis of all origins. "We, who are not from Brazil, who do not speak Portuguese, have our own opinion that are not being heard by traditional parties," Ruschel said.

The impact of Rupert Ruschel's resignation from the post of Prime Minister was immediately felt in the New Democratic Party (ND), the party he co-led along with Gabriela Amorim, 1st Duchess of Guterfolg. With Ruschel's resignation, the ND lost its most important charismatic figure, weakening the party's position, which was forced out of government.

Meanwhile, the National Party (NP), the conservative opposition party that had been defeated by the ND in the previous elections, saw an opportunity to return to power. Henri Sãens, the former Prime Minister who preceded Ruschel in office and which was the centerpiece of a political crisis that resulted in the formation of both the ND and the NP, reassumed the position of head of government.

The return of the National Party to power was received with caution by some sectors of the Ebenthali citizenry, especially those concerned with environmental and social issues. The party is known for its conservative social opinions and its skeptical position on climate change. However, the figure of Henri, former member of the Moderate Party, former opposition party to the predecessor of the NP, the Conseravtive Party, in its leadership, still raises doubts as to the policies that the NP will adopt.

The impact of the foundation of the Nordic Party, Rupert Ruschel's resignation from the post of Prime Minister and Henri's return to power at the head of a conservative party is still uncertain. However, it is undeniable that the creation of this new political party represents a significant change in the political landscape of Ebenthal and may affect the balance of power between traditional parties.
